Maruti Swift DZire Regal to take on Honda Amaze
Maruti Suzuki has reportedly announced a new limited-edition petrol variant of the DZire called the Regal.
Not one to let go of its one-upmanship after Honda launched the Amaze sedan last week, Maruti has reportedly announced a new variant of the DZire called the Regal. According to an Economic Times article, the limited-edition variant will be available only in petrol avatar and hit dealerships within the next few days.
The Regal will come in a new serene blue colour option, a silver front grille, body-coloured electronically adjustable ORVMs (outside rear view mirrors) and rear parking sensor. Inside, the variant will feature leather upholstery and an "advanced" music system. A lot has been said about the DZire's attractive interior and dash layout compared to the Amaze's bland (though spacious) interior and the fresh additions in the Regal are further meant to bolster the Maruti's appeal.
The Regal will reportedly carry a price tag of Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) – around Rs 7,000 more than the Swift DZire VXi. It will also straddle the mid-variant Honda Amaze EX and the top-of-the-line Amaze S, which are priced at Rs 5.45 lakh and Rs 5.85 lakh.
