Two Students Of Olabisi Onabanjo University Killed As Police Shoot To Halt Protest
A source in the institution said the premises have turned riotous with students and staff of the institution dashing into nearby bushes for safety.
A student union executive who spoke to SaharaReporters on the phone he was hiding in a bush. Eyewitness accounts say the police arrived at the entrance of the campus in armored tanks and began shooting sporadically into the air. It is not yet clear whether the two students killed were deliberately aimed at or killed by stray bullets.
Saharareporters gathered that the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, ordered the policemen to the campus upon learning that they had started a protest against some harsh policies of the school management.
