REVEALED: Plot By Lawmakers To Remove Kaduna House Of Assembly Speaker

There are reports of plot to remove the Speaker of Kaduna House of Assembly, Usman Gangara from office due to his disloyalty to the executive arm of government.

The members who were supposed to resume sitting yesterday after a two-month recession, insisted that the speaker must resign before they can commence the day's plenary.

Sensing danger, the embattled speaker summoned members to his office for an emergency closed door meeting to resolve issues brought against him.

For over seven hours, journalists and supporters of the members waited patiently.

Thereafter, the spokesman of the House, Yakubu Yusuf who came out from the meeting told Channels Television that there was need to change the leadership of the house for the interest and development of the state, adding that the full details on the change in the house leadership would be made public by Thursday.

However, the members could not elect a new speaker and other principal officers due to their inability to settle on a particular candidate.

A member of the House loyal to the embattled speaker who craved for anonymity, told Channels Television that the impeachment move against the speaker was done with the encouragement and support of the executive arm of government on grounds of not being loyal to the state government and Vice President Namadi Sambo.
