It's easy to assume that Marijuana smoking is synonymous with Afrobeat, if the pioneer's lifestyle, Fela Anikulapo, is under review. But the late legend's youngest son Seun Kuti has debunked the insinuation.

Speaking on a Channels TV program recently, Seun said Afrobeat is a movement and a lifestyle, and not the weed. 'Afrobeat is a movement, more of a lifestyle not the weed or smoking'.

The Egypt80s band leader also noted that he's committed to living a responsible life, more so because his father and mother died of the dreaded HIV/AIDS.

'Having lost my dad and mum to HIV, I am living a more responsible life right now,' Seun told the presenter.
The young man knows he cannot fill his father's shoes, so he's not bothering about that, but he's dedicated to doing good music to channel his own path to greatness.

In his words: 'My goal is not to fill my father's shoes, but to do good music…Nigeria where afrobeat originated has very few bands, when there are bands even in Israel.'

However, he didn't fail to address Burna Boy's issue over his performance at the 2013 Felabration in his underpants. Seun had condemned the act weeks back, noting that Fela never performed on stage in underwear.

He expressed his disappointment again; 'his dad was my dad's first manager. He should know better than doing what he did,' he quipped
