Lagos’ Chris Bulus on Saturday won the Under-18 category of the Central Bank of Nigeria Junior Tennis Championship in Kaduna.
Bulus defeated his Kaduna counterpart Chris Itodo 9-8 to clinch the trophy.
Lagos’ Angel Mcleod beat Marylove Edwards to win the U-16 girls category, while Abuja’s Samonu Abubakar defeated Lagos’ Michael Oshewa 9-7 in the same category.
In the U-14 boys category, David Dawariye defeated his Port Harcourt rival Friday Victor 9-2 in the final while Kaduna’s Favour Moses defeated Port Harcourt’s Temire Maxwell 9-7 in the girls’ version.
The U-12 category saw Ajanaku Abdullahi of Lagos displaying superiority over Clement Dickson of Kaduna as he trashed him 9-4. In the same category, Port Harcourt’s Rebecca Ekpeyong won the girls’ category after defeating Iye Onoja of Kaduna 9-8.
Abuja’s Ezekiel Azi defeated Lucky Danjuma 9-7 to rule the boys U-10 while Salamatu Haruna of Abuja defeated Mary Azi 9-5.
Temire Maxwell and Suleiman Ibrahim both bagged the Most Outstanding Players of the tournament.
CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, who was represented by the Acting Director Corporate Communication Department Isaac Okorafor, expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the players.
