We want change in practical terms, G’Khadi tells Buhari
Success Nwogu, Ilorin
THE Grand Khadi of Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Solihu Mohammed, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that Nigerians start to enjoy his promised ‘change’ in practical terms, and not in theories, before October, this year.
He reminded the President that the second year of his administration had begun, adding that Buhari should without further delay commence the actual implementation of the ‘change’ he promised Nigerians.
He spoke on Monday on the sidelines of the 18th graduation of Baraje Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilorin.
He urged Buhari to start investing the recovered loot in programmes that would positively affect the masses and boost the economy.
The Grand Khadi appealed to Nigerians to be more patient with Buhari’s administration.
He said, “I want to advise President Buhari to understand that a year is over. Whatever changes, in accordance with the change mantra, he wants to bring, he should begin today, not tomorrow; because his second year has started.
“I want to advise him that before the first quarter of the second year, we should have seen changes in practical terms; not in theories. What he has been able to recover as loot from all over the world, he should inject into the economy. Let us see food on our table, water flowing, electricity and cheap transportation. Let us see that everything is now getting back to normal.”
The founder of the school, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, in his address, said 153 pupils graduated at the occasion. He added that 86 of the pupils possessed certificates equivalent to senior secondary school certificates.
Baraje, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, also said he was making efforts to upgrade the centre to a university status.
