Delta, Lagos in semi-finals of Milo schools basketball
Yejide Grammar School Ibadan, Oyo State, have picked their semi-final ticket in the girls category at the ongoing 18th Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship at the sports hall of the Asaba Stadium, Delta State.
The Ibadan side defeated Harmony Secondary School Lokoja, Kogi State, 24-13 to grab the ticket.
Yejide coach, Yemi Abiodun, praised the girls for their resilience.
He said, “I asked my players to take it easy and play their normal game without underrating their opponents.”
Also, Government Secondary School, Gboko, Benue State, also breezed into the semi-finals, by beating Government Secondary School, Numan, Adamawa State, 48-10.
The one-sided encounter saw the coach Andoa Zakaay led Benue girls dominate the four quarters 7-3, 21-3, 41-5 and 48-10.
In the boys cadre, Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja, Kogi State, handed out a 33-26 defeat to Government Secondary School Barracks, Cross River State, while Henson Demonstration School Benin, Edo State, defeated General Murtala Muhammad College, Adamawa, 39-34 in a tension-soaked encounter.
