Oduduru, Omotosho lead others to Akure Golden League

Returning Omolara Omotosho, Divine Oduduru and Egwero Ogho-oghene are some of the headline names for the final leg of the 2016 Golden League of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria at the Sports Complex of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, on Monday.
The competition, which was previously scheduled for June 7, will serve as qualifiers for the 2016 Confederation of African Athletics’ African Senior Athletics Championships in Durban, South Africa from June 22 to 26.
According to the AFN’s programme and list of athletes for the one-day event, which was released on Sunday, Omotosho, who came back from an injury-ridden 2015 to win the women’s 400m at the Sagamu leg of the Golden League, will battle Patience Okon, Etim Margaret, Mayungbe Blessing, Ajayi Yinka, Idmadudu Praise, Ossai Rita and Ronke Ogunbase in the event.
The men’s 400m is led by Isah Salihu and Orukpe Erayokan. Others are Henry Okorie, Fatoyinbo Sunday, Ogunmola Tobi, Odeka Gerald, Atinaya Daniel and Ogunmakinju Adeleye.
Egwero and Oduduru will battle each other in the men’s 100 and 200m. Others in the events are Obinna Metu, Tega Odele, Arowolo Emmanuel, Gambian Assan Faye and Orru Wheyinmi.
