The Ugandan Directorate of Petroleum, under the country’s Ministry of Education and Mineral Development, has praised the Industrial Training Fund for its strength in human capital development.
Speaking in Abuja when he led a delegation of the Cambridge Education Group on an unscheduled study tour of the ITF, the Acting Head of the Uganda High Commission, Mr. Nuru Byarur, said the development programmes of the ITF was yielding desired results.
He said it was because Nigeria had proven to be skillful in developing manpower that could drive a nation’s industrialisation process that the directorate decided to undertake the study tour.
Byarur said his country had confidence in Nigeria’s vocational and technical development capabilities.
According to a statement by the ITF on Friday, Byarur called for more cooperation in the areas of technical and vocational skills development between the two countries.
Responding, the Acting Director-General, ITF, Mr. Dickson Onuoha, said the agency was leveraging the support of the Federal Government to remain a foremost human capital development organisation.
He said the ITF had expanded its training areas to make sure that Nigerians no longer lose available job opportunities to expatriates due to inadequate manpower or capacity.
