‘Resolve PDP crisis’
The lawmaker representing Ojo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Obasa, has called for a truce in the ongoing national leadership crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party.
In a statement by his media aide, Mr Opeyemi Ahmed, on Tuesday, the lawmaker appealed to the founding fathers of the party to do the needful by uniting all warring factions and putting the party in a better stead ahead of the 2019 presidential election.
Obasa described the agitation by the various factions as a reflection of “the entrenched democratic ethos”in the party, adding that democracy was all about uniting different views.
The lawmaker assured Nigerians that the party was built on a strong foundation and that its internal mechanism was enough to resolve the issue within a short time.
“Sustenance of the prosperity of a political party lies in its internal mechanism to resolve issues as they arise. The PDP would surely bounce back to reclaim its presidential status in the next general election. All agitations by various groups will be a joyful blessing for repositioning,” he said.
